Client Story: Client was referred to me by an existing client. He had previously used 2 mortgage brokers and had been trying to buy his first home for 2 years. Both applications with previous brokers were declined, client was very discouraged and did not thing he could ever buy his own home. Client is self employed and was having issues with showing enough income due to showing 2 years tax returns with varying income and losses in his company.
Solution: I took an application which we went through CBA under their simplified self employed policy which only required payslips and accountants letter showing client was paying himself a yearly wage. Loan was approved and client was extremely happy. I also managed to get them a spot under the first home buyer low deposit scheme which saved him over $10,000 in mortgage insurance.
